rest my chemistry
My days haven't been that interesting lately, but normal and normal is good enough for me I guess. I'm planning to get healthier and tone up since I haven't been exercising in ages which is not good at all! So I'll cut down on the junk and start off slow with exercising three times a week and then four times. I don't know, feeling healthy and looking fit makes me feel more in control. I still haven't got paid yet which means a delay in my shopping plans but oh well, I just hope I get paid by this week, likely not though. Today was chilly, rainy and grey in Melbourne which was a vast difference from yesterday's humid 33 degrees, so it was stockings, boots and a blazer for me with touches of blue and turquoise.

Current Obsessions
1. Maxi Skirts and Dresses: I always put off wearing long skirts as I am pretty short and was afraid of looking like a floating dwarf of some sort. But I tried on a dress not long ago and loved it, I have bought a maxi dress, a leopard print skirt and recently on a bargain a nice black maxi skirt.
2. Ethnic Inspired Jewellery: I absolutely love the colours, detail and the whole cultural feel one can get from jewellery. One piece can just transform the whole feel of an outfit.
3. Colour Palette
4. Minimal meets Classic Design: Love the clean lines, neutral colour palette, fresh feeling and occasional with a touch of classic such as gilded mirrors or detailed architraves and mouldings. A perfect combination of masculinity and femininity.
5. Overloading bracelets: So pretty for the summer! Love all the colours and especially the beading or detail or really delicate ones.
6. Colour Bloking: I love this trend, so many colours to choose and play with and can look really amazing and a change from my usual colour boring palette.
7. Feather Earrings: They're beautiful and delicate with a bohemian feel to them that I love so much.
8. Clutches: I love all the different colours and textures of clutches, it's a perfect addition to an outfit!

animal instinct
Yesterday was an interesting day to say the least, went out to lunch with a friend, went to school and did some drawing which was pretty fun and then worked from 5.30pm to 9.15pm, so it was a long day but I enjoyed it. This Wednesday when I went to lunch with Kelli, we walked around and browsed the stores and I did not expect to get a new item! I said I'd save! But there was the Portmans silk leopard print skirt staring at me in the face and I could not say no, especially when I tried it on and it looked good! It didn't help that my second opinion also liked the skirt! Haha! So I had no control whatsoever and bought it and wore it yesterday, in fact I might wear it again today! This skirt wasn't even on the shopping list! But oh well! I love it.

push on
Yesterday's outfit consisted of a floral dress from a market in Vietnam, a turquoise and gold belt from Forever New. Today I wore my Portmans maxi dress as a maxi skirt with a black top but I was in a hurry I didn't get a chance to photograph. These days have been okay, a little sad here and there but with recent happenings I've really tried to be more positive and move on alot faster from things the old Ivy would've probably moped about. I guess sometimes you just need to let things go and move on, because it's not the end of the world, what matters in the end is that you take chances and that you try. You just have to gracefully accept things. It is what it is.

this summer
I have been recently updating my summer wardrobe and planning to sell items that I no longer want to make way for new pieces! This summer for me, my daily wear will consist of crochet, floaty maxi dresses, off the shoulder tops and dresses, beautiful ethnic jewellery, tribal/aztec prints. I really love the colour turquoise as you can see above my new Portmans snakeskin turquoise clutch and Forever New belt, I love gold and turquoise together, so beautiful! The second last picture is a dress I bought in a market in Vietnam that I'm fixing the straps, so hopefully I can get it done by today so it will be worn tomorrow. The fourth picture is an outfit I put together for summer, neutrals with a touch of pink and turquoise plus the addition of crochet, perfect!

if you want me, let me know
Yesterday was a good day, although a tad bit hot. But my shopping ban was lifted yesterday and I was able to shop again, now I said my limit was two items but I ended up getting three, it was just too tempting, and not being able to shop for a few weeks only wore down my resistance to temptation, so I caved! Oh well, what can a girl do when she sees an item practically beckoning her? Deny it?! Hmm probably a good choice to, but hey let's live a little! The first item I bought is a oatmeal coloured crochet top from Dotti, one that I've wanted for a while and now finally have, the next is a beautiful silk printed maxi from Portmans (one that I've had my eye on for a while!) and then a totally impulsive and unexpected buy from Forever New, a navy striped strapless top!
